The Bail Act 2013: Unacceptable Risk Test

The new Bail Act 2013 and its adoption of the ‘unacceptable risk test’ commenced on 20 May 2014. Under section 17 of the Act,  before making a bail decision, the bail authority must consider whether there are any unacceptable risks.
